Israel, the Apple of God's Eye
Israel, the Apple of God’s Eye
"For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt." Deuteronomy 7:6 – 8
Amid turmoil, confusion, and pure evil in the world today that we see in protests against Israel, it is important for believers to pause and reflect on what the Bible says of Israel and our need for support, dedication, and thanks toward the chosen people of God.
Let’s remove the noise of the media and the conflict and think about God’s eternal purpose in blessing the world through Israel. Below are five important points for us to consider as believers:

Let’s remove the noise of the media and the conflict and think about God’s eternal purpose in blessing the world through Israel. Below are five important points for us to consider as believers:
1. Salvation is from the Jews – John 4:22.
2. The Gospel is lived out best by loving our neighbors, the Jewish people.
3. No nation is perfect, but no people group deserves such hatred or genocidal attack as is happening now.
4. The mutual need for the US and Israel as democratic nations is crucial for the world. Without this partnership between democracies, peace in the region has no chance. We support Israel’s right to exist and to defend herself against evil.
5. As this war rages, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem (PS. 122:1). Keep a biblical perspective of God’s chosen people and pray for their salvation. Remember, the enemy seek to kill, steal, and destroy! God is not finished with His Chosen People, nor are we (Romans 1:16).
a. The Bible we read is a Jewish book.
b. The Savior we trust is a Jewish Savior.
c. There is a remnant of Jews who are believers in Jesus as Messiah (Romans 11:5).
2. The Gospel is lived out best by loving our neighbors, the Jewish people.
a. People are blessed by blessing Israel. People are cursed by cursing Israel (Gen. 27:29; Num. 24:9)
i. Nearly every nation that has hated Israel down through history has been destroyed.
b. The Jewish people have been among the most enslaved, abused, and hated people in the world.
i. This comes from the conflict between Issac and Ishmael. That will end at the Millennial Reign of Christ.
c. No other nation in history has given support to Israel more that the United States. This must continue for the sake of the Jewish people and for God to continue to bless us as a nation.
